Founded in 1973, the Department of NeuroSciences is a multidisciplinary sector that bands together three (3) sections of Makati Medical Center: Section of Neurology, Section of Neurosurgery, and Section of Psychiatry –with each functioning independently but is interconnected through the shared discipline of Neuroscience.
Makati Medical Center Institute of Neurological Neurosurgical and Behavioral Sciences (M.I.N.D.S.) was established in 2024 to support the Department in carrying out its services and deliver improved patient outcomes. It houses different specialties that diagnose and address conditions associated with the nervous system, such as cerebrovascular diseases, dementia, movement disorders, seizures, diseases of the nerves and muscles, sleep disorders, headache and brain tumor, among others.
