Makati Medical Center recently received a Merit Award from the International Hospital Federation (IHF) at the 42nd World Hospital Congress in Brisbane, Australia for exceptional quality care for patients.
The Switzerland-based non-profit organization, composed of hospitals and healthcare organizations from around the globe, selected MakatiMed’s Infection Prevention and Control Program as the Merit Awardee for the IHF/Austco Excellence Award for Quality & Safety and Patient-Centered Care. The award recognizes MakatiMed’s initiative for quality healthcare delivery as one of the “Hospitals’ Best Practices” presented in the World Hospital Congress.

MakatiMed was the only healthcare institution from the Philippines that made the cut in its category after an extensive review. IHF’s panel of judges, composed of top healthcare leaders, selected the country’s top hospital over other healthcare organizations from Canada, Australia, USA, India, and Taiwan.
