Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) launched the Naeotom Alpha.Pro, a photon-counting computed tomography (CT) system from Siemens Healthineers, further strengthening the hospital’s diagnostic imaging capabilities and expanding patients’ access to advanced imaging technology.
The Naeotom Alpha.Pro represents a newer generation of CT imaging that uses photon-counting detectors to directly measure X-ray photons. This enables the system to produce high-resolution images and spectral information while supporting lower radiation doses compared with conventional CT imaging.
For patients, this technology can provide physicians with more detailed diagnostic information while helping minimize radiation exposure. This can be particularly valuable for patients who require close monitoring or repeated imaging examinations.
The Naeotom Alpha.Pro at MakatiMed also features an interventional capability, allowing the system to support image-guided procedures, expanding the ways advanced CT imaging can be incorporated into clinical care. The additional imaging information can help physicians evaluate conditions, characterize findings, and plan appropriate treatment.
For MakatiMed, the value of the Naeotom Alpha.Pro goes beyond adding a new piece of equipment. It strengthens the hospital’s ability to provide patients with advanced diagnostic imaging while giving its medical teams additional tools to support timely, informed, and individualized clinical decisions.
The Naeotom Alpha.Pro was unveiled during an inauguration attended by MakatiMed leaders and members of the Department of Radiology, together with representatives from Siemens Healthineers Philippines.
With the addition of the Naeotom Alpha.Pro, MakatiMed continues to advance its diagnostic capabilities in ways that put technology in service of better-informed clinical care and the needs of every patient.
