The Section of Pulmonary Medicine of Makati Medical Center received several awards and accolades at the Philippine College of Chest Physicians’ (PCCP) 36th Annual Chest Convention at the Philippine International Convention Center on March 7 to 10.
The Section of Pulmonary Medicine received three years accreditation (January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2019) from the organization, with Gregorio P. Ocampo, MD, Consultant, Pulmonary Medicine, re-elected as Board Member of the PCCP Board of Directors.
During the Presidential Dinner, Alipio S. Abad Jr., MD, Section Chief of Pulmonary Medicine, was conferred the PCCP Presidential Award. The award was given by the PCCP President, Vincent M. Balanag, Jr., MD, for Dr. Abad’s unwavering support for PCCP Inter-Hospital Symposiums.
The Section’s Fellows and Consultants also received the following recognitions:
- Kenneth Jorge A. Lasafin, MD (1st Year Adult Pulmonary Fellow-in-Training) – Associate Member, PCCP
- Cyrus Gerald P. Pasaporte, MD (2nd Year Adult Pulmonary Fellow-in-Training), author, and Norman L. Maghuyop, MD, co-author, of the research paper “Adherence, Enablers and Barriers to the Implementation of Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Bundle in the Intensive Care Units at the Makati Medical Center”, published in the January to March 2017 issue of the Philippine Journal of Chest Diseases, published by the PCCP.
- Kathryn Hazel C. Trinidad-Tolentino, MD (Adult Pulmonary Fellow-in-Training Graduate, Batch 2015) and Jillian Mae L. Tabora, MD (Adult Pulmonary Fellow-in-Training Graduate, Batch 2016) successfully pass the 2016 PCCP Diplomate Certifying Examination.
