In an internal memorandum, Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman of the Medical Doctors, Inc., thanked President & CEO Rose R. Montenegro for her service in leading Makati Medical Center for the past nine (9) years. The Chairman also announced the appointment of Maria Corazon Consunji, MD, as Interim President & CEO. The full announcement appears below:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Medical Doctors, Inc. (MDI), I would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our President Rose Montenegro, who is retiring from Makati Med today May 31, 2018. Rose joined us in February 2009 when annual revenues were only around P3.0 billion. More than 9 years later, she leaves us with a thriving and upgraded medical institution with annual revenues of more than P6.0 billion and the highest core profits in 2017. More importantly, she also leaves Makati Med with the highly coveted JCI accreditation which symbolizes our hospital’s commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare. Please join me in wishing Rose all the best in her future endeavors.
I am also pleased to announce the appointment of Dra. Maria Corazon (Cay) Consunji as Interim President & CEO starting Monday June 4, 2018, as we continue our search Rose’s successor. Cay is no stranger to Makati Med, as she was the President & CEO of Colinas Verdes Hospital Managers Corporation, operator of Cardinal Santos Medical Center, which was once a subsidiary of MDI. Aside from being a pediatric doctor, Cay has an MBA and an MHS Degree in Health Finance & Management, with extensive international healthcare management experience, working with Johns Hopkins in the USA, among others, and, more recently, consulting with Hamad Women’s Hospital in Qatar. I enjoin everyone to welcome and work with Cay to build upon the strong foundation that Rose has left us.
Mabuhay ang Makati Medical Center!
