Makati Medical Center held its 1st Liver Tumor Board meeting last August 7, organized by the MakatiMed Liver Unit of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center.
The meeting was attended by 36 doctors from various specialties including Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Medical Oncology, General Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Interventional Radiology and Radiation Oncology.
Future meetings will be held every 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at the Cancer Center Conference Room. It aims to foster multi-disciplinary collaboration to improve patient care and to provide a venue for discussion of the different emerging therapies for the treatment of liver cancer and liver metastases.
