The Operating Room staff members provide focused and individualized care to each patient, from pre-operation all the way to patient recovery.

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is a surgical specialty dedicated to the reconstruction and restoration of appearance and function of face and body parts to correct defects due to birth disorders, accidents, disease, and other factors.Cosmetic surgery includes face and nose lifts, breast augmentation and reduction, tummy-tuck or abdominoplasty, hair and stem cell-enhanced fat transplant surgery, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, and gynecological surgery. Colorectal Surgery
The section performs simple to complex surgical treatment of the diseases affecting colon, rectum, and anus. Our Colorectal Surgeons have completed advanced training in the treatment of colon and rectal diseases and conditions. MakatiMed Colorectal Surgeons have vast experience with excellent results in treating benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum such as total mesorectal excision (TME) for rectal cancer, complex fistula in ano cases, rectal prolapse, bowel incontinence, and sphincter-saving procedures. Likewise, this section offers treatment for benign and malignant conditions, simple and very complex re-operative intestinal surgeries, performs routine screening examinations, and surgically treat problems when necessary. This section is now equipped with the latest Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization (THD) machine for quick recovery and painless treatment of prolapsing and/or bleeding haemorrhoid.
Ear, Nose, Throat – Head & Neck (ENT-HNS) Surgery
This section of medicine encompasses a variety of subspecialties namely, Otology (ear), Rhinology (nose), Laryngology (voice, phonation and upper airway), Bronchoesophagology (airway) and swallowing, MaxilloFacial Surgery (facial fractures), Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (facial defects) and Head and Neck Surgery (cancer of the head and neck).The medical staff have specialty trainings in these various fields in the Philippines and abroad, with on-going continued medical education to give proper, modern treatment to patients in need. With these expertise, the department not only treats the simple ear, nose, and throat diseases, but extends to endoscopic hearing rehabilitation, reconstructive facial surgery of fractures, defects and even tumor extirpation of head and neck cancer cases. This section has multiple sub-specialties for the diseases of the head and neck area.
Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Biliary Surgery
Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Biliary (HPB) surgeries often demand the most challenging surgical procedures involving disorders of the liver, bile ducts, gall bladder and pancreas. Such advanced and complicated surgical procedures require exceptional competence that the experienced HPB surgeons provide to the patients of MakatiMed. Our HPB surgeons have been in the forefront of aggressive yet safe liver surgeries in the country.This section has a vast experience in various onerous procedures such as extended and limited liver resections (both open & laparoscopic) for benign and malignant conditions of the liver, biliary & vascular reconstructions for biliary tract cancers, choledochal cysts, biliary strictures. Likewise, advanced pancreatic resections such as Whipple’s procedure for pancreatic cancer, and laparoscopic splenectomies for some hematologic indications are some of the other challenging procedures that this section can offer.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
This section performs anywhere from a single to multiple sub-centimeter incisions on the patient. Key hole surgery, as it is sometimes referred to, offers advantages to patients in terms of minimal trauma resulting to less pain, minimal scars, and faster recovery. Fiberoptic camera is used to visualize intra-abdominal structures with accuracy and precision allowing for a safer surgery, as well as minimal stress to body tissue, organs and muscles. Patients are usually sent home the following day and are able to return to work in less than a week.

This section offers treatment of diseases of the arteries (blocked arteries, aneurysms, etc.) and veins (venous Insufficency, varicose veins, venous stenosis, etc.) as well as vascular and dialysis access surgery.
The section is staffed with foreign-trained vascular surgeons specializing in both open and endovascular (minimally invasive) procedures, endovascular aortic repair (EVAR/TEVAR), peripheral vascular angioplasty and stenting, radiofrequency ablation or laser treatment of varicose veins, sclerotherapy (injecting solutions straight to a vein to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins), and bypass surgeries.
