Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands campaign aims to emphasize the importance of hand hygiene in health care and to bring people together in support of hand hygiene improvement globally.
The MakatiMed Infection Control Committee, Infection Prevention and Control Department (IPCD) and Nursing and Patient Care Services Division (NPCSD) conducted a hospital-wide advocacy in support of the WHO’s annual global hand hygiene campaign.
Personalized posters of health workers, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) leaders and health facility leaders were created, with corresponding calls to action displayed for each health care worker.
Group photos of the medical staff were also taken to showcase the solidarity chain where healthcare workers come together with linking hands as a symbol of MakatiMed’s commitment to hand hygiene.
In addition, healthcare workers signed commitment sheets as a symbol of support for hand hygiene.
The posters, group photos and commitment sheets were posted on social media with hashtags #HandHygiene, #InfectionPrevention and #HealthForAll.
