Julita R. Jalbuena, MD of Makati Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine – UP Medical Alumni Society (UPMAS).
The award, honoring Dr. Jalbuena as a “Trail Blazer – Outstanding Role Model for Generations of Physicians”, was conferred by the UPMAS at the UPMAS Homecoming Ball on December 21, 2016 at the Shangri-La Hotel at the Fort, Taguig City.
UPMAS’ citation said that “after seven decades working in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Philippines, Dr. Jalbuena has been widely recognized for her passion for upholding the highest standards of care for all of her patients. In August 1986, she was given an award by the UP College of Medicine (UPCM)-Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology as recognition for her thirty-eight (38 years) of teaching as Professor VIII, and for her vast research in her field. She was cited for being an ‘Outstanding Role Model for Generations of Physicians’ who have come to understand and love the specialty. Dr. Jalbuena has indeed spent a lifetime bringing forth life through service and education.”
In her thank you note, she quoted Psalm 107:1: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever.”
“God bless us all in 2017 and beyond,” she said.
