Makati Medical Center’s resident under the Section of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine won third place at the Dr. Reuben Guerrero Annual Cancer Research Forum on October 12, 2018
Harold Nathan C. Tan, MD, a third-year medical resident, received the award during the annual convention of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO). Dr. Tan’s paper titled “A Retrospective Cohort Study on the Disease-Free Survival and Overall Survival of Stage I-III Triple Negative Breast Cancer Patients given Adjuvant Chemotherapy in the Makati Medical Center” was co-authored with MakatiMed consultants Maria Belen Tamayo, MD, Regina T. Edusma-Dy, MD, as well as Francisco Vicente F. Lopez, MD (bone marrow and transplant specialist from Asian Hospital and Medical Center) and Venus C. Rosales, MD (Managing Director of 101 Health Research).
On the other hand, Roy Justin G. Labriaga, MD, a fellow under the Section of Medical Oncology, was among the three out of 45 case reports that were accepted for oral presentation during the same forum.
