Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) has recently made a significant investment in its diagnostic testing capabilities by acquiring the Atellica® VTLi Patient-side Immunoassay Analyzer from Siemens Healthineers. The Atellica® VTLi System is a cutting-edge technology that allows for faster and more accurate diagnostic testing, and MakatiMed is the first hospital in the Philippines and the ASEAN region to acquire this advanced equipment.
The Atellica® VTLi System is expected to have a significant impact on MakatiMed’s point-of-care testing capabilities. It will enable the hospital to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests with faster turnaround times, delivering more accurate results, and enhancing patient satisfaction. This will reduce wait times and improve the overall quality of care provided by the hospital.
According to Medical Director Saturnino P. Javier, MD, “Atellica® VTLi provides a valuable additional point-of-care diagnostic tool to further enhance and speed up triaging and decision-making in the Emergency Department (ED). The ease and speed of the testing will definitely contribute to patient traffic and process flow in a busy area such as the ED of MakatiMed.”
The acquisition of the Atellica® VTLi System was made possible through the collaboration of MakatiMed and Siemens Healthineers. The meeting of the two teams were attended by MakatiMed President and CEO Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira; Medical Director Saturnino P. Javier, MD; Professional Services Group Head Noel L. Rosas, MD; Emergency Department Chairman Amado A. Flores III, MD; Service Operations Division Head, Reynaldo J. Lim; and Outpatient Services and Operations Support Assistant Director Eric M.
