The Center provides supplementary support to the patient and the family members, in collaboration with the patient’s primary doctors. The services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team of Physicians, Nurses, and other Allied Healthcare Staff, including Rehabilitation Therapists, Nutritionists, and Religious Counsellors. All services are available for patients admitted in the hospital and those needing home care.
Inpatient Palliative Care is geared towards improving or maintaining quality of life by reducing critical care and hospital admissions. Managing total pain holistically includes distressful symptoms not controlled on a routine level of care, severe psychosocial symptoms, and acute breakdown in family dynamics due to the patient’s illness. Family members and caregivers are also trained to care for the patients. Facilitation of end-of-life decision-making and/or transition to home care is also readily available.
Home Care of MakatiMed provides skilled clinical and support services in the comfort of a patient’s home. Through a holistic approach during these home visits, the multidisciplinary care team works to improve the quality of life of patients who require home-based medical care to relieve the suffering of terminally ill patients.
MakatiMed’s commitment to excellent healthcare aims to bring professional and compassionate care to patients in an environment that is familiar and relaxed to ease the anxiety of the family members for better quality of life.
