Procurement Assistant - Buyer

The Procurement Assistant - Buyer is responsible for the efficient and effective processing of requests to purchase goods and services for assigned accounts required by the hospital. He/She sources for suppliers and handles negotiations with them. He/She also ensures appropriate and timely delivery of purchase requests according to established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilites (include but not limited to)

  • Facilitates purchase requisitions from assigned accounts
  • Negotiates the best value for all goods and services without compromising quality in order to contribute to the savings of the hospital.
  • Validates correctness of entries in the sales invoices versus the approved request stated in the purchase order
  • Monitors compliance of suppliers with agreed specifications, quantity, and prices in the purchase order (PO) or contracts, special offers and deals, negotiated contracts, among others
  • Processes requests for the pre-bid meeting, coordinates with the supplier and end-user, and observes the actual pre-bid meeting
  • Assists during on-site visits of suppliers and service providers when necessary. Entertains courtesy visits of sales representatives and discusses issues and concerns.


  • Graduate of any 4-year course, preferably nursing graduates
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have good project management, negotiating and organizational skills
