Medical Records Quality Assurance Officer


The Medical Records Quality Assurance Officer coordinates between the Unit Managers of the department, as well as with other clinical departments on issues relating to the medical records and/or chart completion and in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with the department’s policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts quality assurance on patient’s medical charts to check accuracy and completeness of the necessary medical information.
  • Prepares summaries of errors, inconsistencies, and incomplete data of medical records or patient charts
  • Attends meetings with other clinical departments on issues relating to the medical records or compliance to chart completion and international standards.
  • Recommends process improvements to ensure timely completion of medical charts.
  • Monitors compliance of medical records procedures and practices with all departmental and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Educational Attainment:  Graduate of any four (4) year healthcare related course, Masters in Administration an advantage
  • Work Experience: At least two (2) years of experience in medical records quality assurance
