The Neurosciences ICU is a six-bed intensive care unit for patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical diseases.
Specialists in neurology and neurosurgery are assisted by neuro nurses, pharmacists and physical and occupational therapists. Advanced monitoring techniques identify critical problems before permanent neurologic injury occurs.

- Cerebral infarction (especially those in need of thrombolysis)
- Intracerebral (brain) hemorrhage
- Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage
- Arteriovenous malformation (AVM)
- Dural sinus thrombosis

Seizures, including status epilepticus (persistent brain seizures)

Severe or deteriorating demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis

Major neuro-surgical procedures
- Spine surgery
- Carotid artery surgery
