Augmentation Rhinoplasty

Length of the Procedure: 
 1 hour (Augmentation) / 2 hours (with Alar trimming)
Type of Anesthesia: General or Local Anesthesia
Recovery: Back to work: 1 to 2 weeks
Strenuous Activities: 8 weeks
Laboratory Requests:
Complete Blood Count, Bleeding time, Clotting time (Pro time)
Pre-OP Procedures:
No Alcohol, Vitamin E, Aspirin (and other blood thinners), Herbal drugs & teas.
Post-OP Procedures: 
Suture removal 5 to 7 days after
 
 
What is Rhinoplasty?
  • Rhinoplasty, also known as Nose Lift surgery, is a procedure that uses a solid silicone implant to build bridges for flat noses (Augmentation). This is sometimes done along with the reduction of the flare of the nostril (Alarplasty).
Who are best candidates for Rhinoplasty?
Augmentation:
  • Men and women who wants to increase the bridge and tip of the nose
  • Those who want to correct birth defect or injury
  • Those with breathing problems 
With Alar Trimming:
  •  Those who want to narrow and trim wide nostrils, round nasal tip and flared alar. 
What to expect?                                                     
  • Swelling and bruising for 2 to 8 weeks
  • Face feels puffy
  • Discomfort
  • Dull headache
  • External scars when Alar Trimming is done
What are the risks?
  • Any surgical procedure carries certain risks and possible complications. Your surgeon will discuss these risks with you during your consultation. Some of the potential complications are:
    • Bleeding
    • Infection 
    • Deviated Implant
    • Implant Extrusion
