Our Commitment


To Patient Care

Our patients are at the center of our practice. Our commitment to patient welfare has allowed us to achieve medical firsts and become the world-class hospital we are today. MakatiMed is the hospital of choice for many Filipinos, who come here knowing that we give the best treatment available, and the compassionate care they deserve.
 
Our prestige attracts thousands of young, outstanding physicians and healthcare practitioners in every specialty. In return, we work hard to keep our staff. We support them through our specialized programs, and help them grow to become pioneers and leaders in their fields, especially in surgery, cardiology, neurosciences, and obstetrics and gynecology.
 
Many of the techniques and treatment protocols commonly used in the country today were first employed by MakatiMed staff, helping create the country's medical services protocols.
 
To Train the Best

We take our responsibility to future Filipino healthcare professionals seriously. We are among the country’s first to initiate formal training in radiology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and Oncology, helping to establish the practice of each specialization in the country.
 
Our training procedures are considered the standard in the country and in Asia, and we have some of the most sought-after programs among medical school graduates in the Philippines and the world. MakatiMed-trained doctors, nurses, and health practitioners are renowned as top-notchers and the best in their field.
 
To Improve the Practice of Medicine

The quest to find better care and cures for many illnesses and diseases never ends. MakatiMed is home to one of the country’s major medical research programs, spanning important areas of medicine.
 
Every year, MakatiMed publishes the Makati Medical Center Proceedings, a journal that compiles the research and medical experiments done by our staff. We continuously undertake new research projects in various fields and translate these as quickly as possible to bedside improvements.
 
Part of National History
Our history is inextricably tied to the history of the country. Our founder, Dr. Constantino P. Manahan served as President Sergio Osmeña’s adviser on hospitals. Practically all past presidents of the Philippines, political officials, and business and society leaders have come to MakatiMed for treatment. Many of the country's best-known personalities have sought treatment for terminal illnesses. We have cared for many descendants of the country’s historical figures and many descendants of our heroes have chosen to work at MakatiMed as well.
