Procurement Assistant - Buyer

The Procurement Assistant - Buyer is responsible for the efficient and effective processing of requests to purchase goods and services for assigned accounts required by the hospital. He/She sources for suppliers and handles negotiations with them. He/she also ensures appropriate and timely delivery of purchase requests according to established policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Processes purchase from assigned accounts
  • Negotiates the best value for all goods and services without compromising quality
  • Processes requests for the pre-bid meeting, coordinates with the supplier and end-user, and observes the actual pre-bid meeting
  • Continuously sources for alternative supplier/s that can provide the same or equivalent item in coordination with the concerned divisions to address possible out-of-stock situation
  • Assists during on-site visits of suppliers and service providers when necessary. Attends to sales representatives re their issues and concerns.
  • Canvasses spare pars, new products, or equipment
  • For Medical Procurement - preferably a graduate of Medical Related courses re - Nursing, Pharmacy etc
  • For Admin Procurement - preferably a graduate of Civil Engineering or other related engineering courses
  • Experience in Procurement/Buying Construction, Engineering and Building & Grounds Facilities, Materials, and Services - an advantage
