Your Security at MMC
At Makati Med, we want your stay to be a pleasant healing experience, and we also want you to be safe.
We do everything we can, and make use of the latest security technologies, to ensure your safety during your stay. We make use of a combination of technologies and human resources to make sure that you are safe.
Apart from managing a CCTV system, we also deploy an adequate number of security personnel to guard the hospital premises 24/7.
Our security force is trained in bioterrorism and emergency preparedness, ready to handle any emergency from fires, to earthquakes, to terrorist attacks.
At Makati Med we have a safety policy in place, a handbook that ensures that this policy is well communicated, and a system of regular drills that hones us in these practices. Our plan includes an effective communication system – which emergency experts will tell you is a crucial element that may spell the difference between life and death during the first hours of any crisis.
Our Emergency Preparedness Plan is effective because it involves all key people in Makati Med and deals comprehensively with managing utilities (fire extinguishers, electrical, mechanical, gas), evacuation details, patient welfare, records and food during an emergency, and communication.
Makati Med’s trauma services, in fact, are known as one of the best. Our reputation is that most diplomats who need medical attention are first brought to us. We are the hospital of choice of most embassies and expatriates residing in our country.
Our ability to handle emergencies has been tried and tested many times:
In February 27, 1980, an aircraft, on a flight from Taipei to Manila undershot the runway while attempting to land at Manila International Airport and caught fire. All the victims were immediately rushed to the Makati Med, where we were able to respond promptly and effectively to them. In innumerable other accidents in the past, Makati Med was able to prove its mettle.
