Heart Center
Our Heart Center provides services ranging from programs to prevent heart disease and general cardiology to heart and heart-lung transplants, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and insertion of other devices for adults with cardiovascular disease, heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure (CHF), heart and heart/lung failure, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, congenital heart disease, Marfan syndrome, coronary artery disease, artificial heart, lymphedema and aneurysm. We also run a Pediatric Cardiology Program for children born with congenital heart diseases and other heart ailments.
Neurosciences
Our Neurosciences services include centers for stroke and cerebrovascular disease, radiosurgery and neuromuscular disease.
We treat patients with dementia and degenerative illnesses, movement disorders including Parkinson's Disease, epilepsy, pain and peripheral nerve damage, multiple sclerosis, headaches, acoustic neuromas, spinal disorders, neuromuscular diseases, brain tumors and head trauma
Disciplines under our Neurology Department include Neurophysiology, Neurology, Pain Control, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychiatry, Pediatric Neurology, Neuropathology, and Neuroradiology.
Makati Medical Center uses state-of-the-art technologies and procedures such as the CyberKnife for radiosurgery, vertebroplasty for spine fractures, and deep brain stimulation for movement disorders.
Acute Stroke Unit
Our Acute Stroke Unit is the country’s leader in stroke management. The unit is multidisciplinary, bringing together physicians in neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology and physical medicine and rehabilitation services to manage patients with treatments such as angioplasty, stenting procedures, endovascular treatments and interventional neuroradiology procedures. Our physicians treat patients suffering from ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, transient ischemic attack TIA), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), aphasia and aneurysms.
Brain & Spine Unit
Makati Med’s Brain and Spine Unit expertly treats adults and children with spinal trauma, disease, and deformity found anywhere along the entire spine from skull to sacrum. We proudly offer minimally invasive spine surgery solutions that grant patients faster recovery and less pain. Our neurosurgeons can treat patients with spine tumors. We can also treat vascular malformations, spinal and intercranial, which include cavernous malformations and arteriovenous malformations.
Radiosurgery
At Makati Med, advanced interventional radiology procedures often replace open surgical procedures.
Because such procedures do not involve large incisions and do not expose internal organs to the risk of infection, they are safer and less painful for patients, and allow them a chance to recover faster.
Our interventional radiologists are physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments that they perform using imaging guidance. Their expertise in reading x-rays, ultrasound and other medical images, guides them as they treat diseases percutaneously or via needle puncture.
Our neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists can also treat brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), with stereotactic radiosurgery, CyberKnife, and radiation therapy.
Transplants
Makati Medical Center offers the full range of transplant programs for patients from the Philippines and around the world.
Transplant programs include kidney, kidney and pancreas, liver, living donor, partial organ, cadaver, heart, lung and heart-lung transplants, and blood marrow transplantation (BMT).
Heart, Lung & Heart-Lung Transplant
Our specialists conduct heart cardiac transplantation on patients with end-stage heart failure or severe coronary artery disease. We undertake heart-lung transplants on patients who have congenital problems that damage both heart and lung, or those who have pulmonary hypertension.
Kidney & Pancreas Transplantation
Our surgeons and nephrologists treat patients with renal failure, end stage renal disease (ESRD), chronic immunosuppression, chronic and acute kidney and pancreas disease, and patients who are on dialysis.
Liver Transplantation
Liver transplants are performed at Makati Med as part of the treatment of chronic liver disease, hepatic or liver failure, hepatocellular carcinoma and liver cancer.
Blood Marrow Transplant
Our Blood Marrow Transplant (BMT) program is a recent addition to our growing facility. We provide treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, yelodysplastic syndrome, blood cancer and bone cancer.
Cancer Center of Excellence
Makati Med’s Cancer Center offers programs in acute leukemia induction, bone cancer, bone marrow transplantation, breast cancer, colon cancer, cutaneous lymphoma, head and neck cancer, hematology, Hodgkin's disease, leukemia, liver cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, multiple myeloma, oncology, otolaryngology, ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, pain management, prostate cancer, radiation oncology, radiology, sarcoma, and treating infectious diseases.
Breast Clinic
We have a separate Breast Clinic that provides superior services in the Philippines for breast cancer, mammograms, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, hormone replacement therapy, mastectomy, breast conservation surgery and breast reconstruction. Our clinic is run by an all-female staff, for your added comfort and convenience.
Gastrointestinal (Digestive) Cancers
Our Gastrointestinal (Digestive) Cancers program provides treatment for colon cancer, stomach cancer, bowel cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, rectal cancer and liver cancer.
Liver Cancer
Makati Med hepatologists and oncologists provide treatment for liver disease, liver tumors, liver cancer, and hepatitis, including performing liver transplant surgery.
Leukemia & Hematologic Malignancies
Our Cancer Center also offers treatment for the following conditions: acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphocytic leukemia, acute promyelocytic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic and myeloid leukemias, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, bone cancer, myelodysplastic syndrome, blood cancer. Services also include bone marrow transplantation, stem cell treatment and a BMT donor program.
Prostate Cancer
We also have a Urologic Oncology program that provides leading prostate cancer treatment and urology care for genitourinary cancer, bladder problems and dysfunction, infertility and erectile dysfunction. Urologists and oncologists perform prostatectomy, prostate biopsy, brachytherapy, cryotherapy and other treatments.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation treatment and therapy at our Cancer Center provide high quality radiation oncology care for patients, including routine and specialty uses of radiosurgery, such as the CyberKnife.
CyberKnife
Makati Med is one of the few hospitals in Asia that uses advanced CyberKnife technology to deliver stereotactic radiosurgery.
