Makati Medical Center's Home Care services is both a philosophy of care and an organized, highly structured system for delivering care to patients with life threatening or debilitating illness.

We have a patient- and family-centered approach to care. We focus on effective management of pain and other distressing symptoms and we incorporate psychsocial and spiritual care according to the patient's and family's needs, values, beliefs and culture(s).

Our aim is to prevent and relieve sufferring as we provide personalized services, a comprehensive care program, and a caring community to support the best possible quality of life for patients and their families , regardless of the stage of the illness or need for other therapies.

At our center, we hope our patients will find comfort, professional medical care, sophisticated relief of pain and other symptoms, practical assistance in day-to-day affairs, and emotional, spiritual and meaningful support.

Optimal Aging

The treatment of cardiovascular disease, cancer, arthritis, cataract, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and Alzheimer's disease—and the other conditions that often come with age—is our goal at this center.

We will take a multidisciplinary approach to aging that crosses specializations and deals holistically with aging-related conditions. At the same time, our center is also envisioned to go beyond the treatment of diseases, to promoting the overall well-being of senior citizens.

Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone

Modern hectic lifestyles have contributed to the increasing number of people who suffer from osteoporosis, and a significant number of fractions occur annually because of this and other bone diseases. This is a public health issue, especially for women who have over 50% lifetime risk for having a fracture. However, if evaluated and treated at an early stage, women can treat osteoporosis and prevent consequent injury.

Our upcoming Center for Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone Diseases will be devoted to evaluating and treating patients with osteoporosis and other forms of bone diseases.

We will diagnose and treat osteoporosis, disorders of calcium metabolism, and other metabolic bone diseases. Some of our facilities will include a state-of-the-art bone densitometer, a Lunar Prodigy used to assess bone density and evaluate bone loss in the hip and spine or even the total body if needed. We will also undertake bone densitometry measurements by ultrasound in coordination with our radiology department.

Because women acquire 98% of her skeletal mass by the age of 20, a key to the prevention of bone diseases is the building of strong bones during childhood and adolescence. This is why a huge part of our center’s work will also involve education and prevention programs aimed at women.

Hepatobiliary Pancreatic

A clear vision and a deep pool of talented specialists ensure that our Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Center will constitute Southeast Asia’s largest surgical referral center for disorders of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and GI tract.

In this center, specialists from across disciplines will treat patients with malignant conditions of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bile duct, stomach and duodenum. Non-malignant conditions that will also be handled include gallstones, gastroesophageal reflux, swallowing disorders, obesity, hiatal hernia, acute and chronic pancreatitis, liver cysts and pancreatic cysts.

Our center will offer pancreatic resections, liver resections, and bile duct reconstructions, laparoscopic and advanced laparoscopic antireflux surgery, cholecystectomies, splenectomies, gastric bypass and staging of abdominal neoplasms.

Some specialized procedures we will offer are: Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer, bile duct tumors, gall bladder cancer, and implantable pumps for chemotherapy delivery to liver cancer patients.

Weight Wellness Center

This center will involve sophisticated weight management solutions through comprehensive nutritional and medical evaluation services and the treatment and long-term prevention of obesity.

It aims to treat weight and eating disorders, help patients attain and maintain optimum weight levels, prevent the development of diseases that are co-morbid with obesity such as diabetes and other conditions, and promote the physical and mental wellbeing that comes with physical fitness.

Consequently, our Weight Wellness Center will come with a full-facility gym. Our approach to weight wellness, however, involves behavioral and nutritional guidance and the treatment of metabolic disorders that cause or exist with obesity. The center will also offer surgical and laparascopic procedures for those who need it.
